Zero is the name of a young and innovative American brand of motorcycle manufacturer that was established in 2006 in Scotts Valley, California. The brand is widely known as a specialist in the production of electric motorcycles, which are considered to be one of the best in this segment.
Motorcycle History
The innovative and progressive brand, established in California in 2006, is often referred to as “Tesla of Motorcycles”. And though it can’t boast the rich history of such brands as Harley-Davidson or Indian, the things Zero does deserve special attention.
In 2018, Zero Motorcycles, the world leader in electric motorcycles, unveiled an updated line of electric motorcycles at an event in California with a new high-speed built-in charging system that increases charging speeds by six times, 10% more battery capacity, and longer range. The electric motorcycle upgrades also include improved performance, updated colors, and firmware.
One of the most well-known models of the brand is SR/F, with the 12.6kWh traction battery, framed by a birdcage-type frame. Neuked is equipped with a new motor ZForce 75-10 and its 80 kW (110 hp) and 190 Nm. The brakes are budget J.Juan – 320mm discs with four-piston calipers and a 240mm rear disc with a single-piston caliper, but the Bosch anti-lock braking system. The bike also has the belt drive, Showa suspensions, and 17-inch wheels with 120/17-17 tires in the front and 180/55-17 in the rear. The top speed is up to 200 km/h.
The motorcycle is available in a base version and a Premium version, which differ in charging speed. The standard traction battery with a 3-kilowatt charger fills 100% in 4.5 hours and 1.8 hours with the optional 6-kilowatt charger, while the Premium requires at least 1.5 hours to complete the process. The urban range is 259 km and up to 322 km with the optional Power Tank. If the rider wants to drive on the highway, he should remember: the range of the “electric car” at a speed of 113 km/h will hardly exceed 130 km.
Brand Logo
Zero is all about innovations and the future, and the logo of the brand is executed in a minimalist, yet meaningful way, which brilliantly reflects the philosophy of the company and its approach.
The Zero logo is composed of an emblem, which has a rounded shape, and a bold uppercase logotype with a delicate “Motorcycles” tagline executed in modern sans-serif.
Emblem and Symbol
The Zero emblem is a monochrome composition with the stylized white “Z” placed on a black background. The lines of the letter resemble a white curvy road, going far to the horizon. The minimalistic approach and traditional color palette make the badge look timeless and powerful.
Font and Color
The wordmark in the Zero logo is written in the uppercase and executed in a modern and stylish sans-serif typeface with the letters drawn in thick lines with sharp slightly diagonal cuts. The Zero font looks close to Corporatus Regular but has some lines modified.
The Legends
The company offers all the same Zero S, SR, DS, DSR, FX, and FXS models as in previous years, but updates its Z-Force battery system with ZF3.6, ZF7.2, and ZF14.4, making it more efficient and productive.
