Who makes Smart?
Microcars and subcompacts sold under the Smart brand are made by a German car manufacturer Smart Automobile, which, in its turn, is a division of Daimler AG.
Where is Smart made?
Today the Smart cars are manufactured at two plants only, one in Hambach, France, the other in Novo Mesto, Slovenia. Although Smart’s parent company, Daimler AG, owns a variety of manufacturing facilities all around the globe, it places major emphasis on using only two of them for the Smart cars.
The French production site, known as “Smartville,” is located not far from the German border. The plant’s shape resembles a cross and has four sections.
