Who makes BMW
Cars sold under the BMW brand are designed and built by the German car and engine manufacturing company Bayerische Motoren Werke AG. In addition to making cars under the BMW marque, it owns the Mini brand and is the parent company of Rolls-Royce. BMW also manufactures plug-in electric vehicles under its “I” sub-brand and produces motorcars and motorcycles under the BMW Motorsport and BMW Motorrad makes respectively.
Also, the company mentions the Regensburg plant and the Shenyang plant among the plants taking part in making BMW 3 series sedan. The Regensburg plant also makes BMW 2 Series Grand Tourer, the M4 Carbriolet, the M3, the 4er Cabrio, and the Z4. BMW i3 and the i8 are built in Leipzig, as well as the 2 series (the Coupe, the Active Tourer, and the Cabrio), and the X1. The two plants participating in making BMW 1 series five door are located in Regensburg and Leipzig.
Where is BMW made
The company builds its cars at 30 BMW manufacturing plants in 14 countries. MINI and Rolls-Royce are made in Great Britain, while BMW motorcycles are built in Berlin. The largest plant is based in Dingolfing, Germany. Among the models assembled in Dingolfing, are the 5, 6, and 7 Series cars, as well as M5 and M6. We should also mention that this is the place where BMW chassis components and systems for all the other BMW factories are made. The most well-known production site in the US is located in Spartanburg, South Carolina. BMW X5, X6, and Z4 are assembled here (according to some sources, X3 and X4 are also in the list). The 3 Series is built at Munich, Germany and Rosslyn, South Africa.
